If you’re looking to run OS X on a netbook, this is a good starting point.
In nice easy big-icon graphcs, boing-boing give you the details on what’s compatable and what’s not.
I’ve never really found a reason to switch over from Windows to OS X. I’ve been close a few times while i’vebeen routing vurtual audio on PC’s but not close enough. Firefox looks the same on both OS’ right?
Check out the full list at Boing Boing.
Firefox and all the other software (specially Microsoft Office for Mac) look extremely nice on the mac os. If Mac could present a 10 inch LED backlit glasscovered Netbook with a keyboard a´la Xperia with 3G WLAN Bluetooth and a weight below 700grams, they are (in my mind) spot on for the future of netbooks :-)
AH! I forgot a little something like price, well for an mac addict it would be around 999€ for the the rest of the world Id say 599€
How can they label it “9xx/1000” when the 900(x) and 901 really have nothing i common when it comes to OSX86 hacking!? The 900 from this aspect is as maceee puts it “practically identical to the 700 in terms of OSx86 support” by the hardware.

Has Anyone tried OSX86 on the EEE box? That would be great to have a EEE box runing OS X? LOOK OUT MAC MINI!
Yes Ive had the eee box up and running about 1 month now… works great! Swapped out Wifi for a broadcom based mini pci-e card from an hp laptop(nx6325), went to 4GB’s (3.5Gb’s visible in OSX)… this thing sucks to open but worth it. DVi to HDMi cable out to my lcd tv… works best at 1920 x 1200 but will run 1080i hd… fairly choppy. Used a trendnet bluetooth usb for the apple wireless keyboard and my logitech mouse AND got the apple remote working with the philips ir usb thingy from a media center pc and remote buddy. cheap mini replacement. Geekbenched like 900 and something. Dont expect any quick iMovie edits but its working great for general purpose usage. Used this tutorial http://www.enik.ch/2009/01/osx-leopard-1056-on-the-eeebox/
I have been hammering away at ideneb osx86 on my Asus eee 900ah for days. I can install it, but the boot1:error has got me defeated on reboot, post install. I can not fix the bootloader issues. Has anyone got past this using the chameleon bootloader or other means? I have mountains of information on this from research on various osx86 forums, but its all sparsely documented and contradictory. I installed ideneb on a guid partition, etc. Tried MBR too, just osx86 here, no dual boot of windows.

the bootloader is a serious nightmare on the Asus eee.
this is the classic error people get with osx86 after successful install of any one of several distros
attempt to boot hd
boot0: GPT
boot0: HFS+
boot0: booting
boot0: done
boot1: error
does the Chameleon bootloader fix this? How does one even install it to replace EFI?
First requirement is working Leopard
Partition Destination Drive with Disk utility Select GUID partition
how to install EFI
To install Chameleon EFI its very simple because now it has installer . just run and select the right drive
Install Leopard
Mount the Leopard retail DVD or its Image. I prefer image as instillation is very fast 5-6 mins
In terminal Copy Paste
cd /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ DVD/System/Installation/Packages
open osinstall.mpkg
Install on right Destination Drive
Than install 10.5.6 Combo update on the right drive
Now to remove incompatible kext or install requird one
Put kext file in the user folder(users/currentuser(yourusername)/
Open post patch change (destination=Name of Drive where retail leopard is installed)
Open terminal and drag drop post patch
this included Sound file is for GA P35 DS4 or similar Gigabyte motherboard & GFX EFI string for nvidia 7600 GT Card
Make sure in Post patch sh file you replace with drive name(Leopard) with yours Drive name
Boot with new Drive
