Intel has released more details on their Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC), and gave us a couple glimpses of potential devices (as seen above).
Some interesting notes from the site:
Full PC and Internet Capabilities
• Full PC capability based on Intel Architecture and full-featured mainstream OSs, allowing consumers to run familiar applications. (with the multiple OSs hinted at here, perhaps this goes in line with the first versions running Tablet XP, while later versions will run some version of Vista)
• Uncompromised Internet access to favorite websites to read news, download videos, search for friends and more.
• New ways to interact with and navigate information using the UMPC.
Location Adaptability
• Personalized information and services based on location.
• Environment recognition and adaptability.
• Interaction with devices in living room or car. (Bluetooth?)
Anytime Connectivity
• Connectivity in a variety of ways via WPAN, WLAN, or WWAN.
• Always reachable via email, IM, chat, or VoIP.
• Always informed with the latest news to make educated business
decisions and to stay in touch.
Ultra Mobility
• Small, thin and light platform design.
• Long battery life to extend productivity.
• Instant access to content and information.
Additionaly, some new, updated pics of the Origami mock-up we first posted Sunday have surfaced online today…and here they are:

Thanks to UberTablet for the images. UberTablet claims these photos are of a real bootable device that will be available in Austrailia next month, and if that is the case, it looks like the mock-up we first leaked was quite accurate (which doesn’t jive with the comments we received yesterday from Microsoft MVP Terri of http://thetabletpc.net, that the mock-up wasn’t meant to show the specifics of a future device).
With all the information pouring in about the Origami and ultra mobile PC recently, the whole picture is starting to come into focus. Look for Samsung and Intel to release info about their ultra mobile PC models at the CeBIT conference March 9th, and odds are the Origami will be Microsoft’s entry into this new class of Tablet PC’s, as we speculated earlier. Will Microsoft take this opportunity to release more details about the Alexandria Product as well? We hope so.
Alright, we hope you are getting as excited for March 9 as we are here on OrigamiPortal. Plus, the Intel Developer Forum is going on right now in San Francisco, so if more ultra mobile PC details emerge, you will find them here, and as always, look for more in-depth discussions in our forums.
