ASUS R2H sales top 40,000 units – Digitimes

According to Digitimes, Asustek have sold more than 40,000 units since the R2H launch in September.

The sources attributed the better-than-expected sales of the R2H to Asustek targeting the automotive-use market instead of the usual notebook market.

This is good news for UMPCs in general. The more the devices circulate, the more people get to see them and understand what they are about although I haven’t really seen any automotive market targeting.

It would be interesting to get some Samsung ultra mobile PC sales figures. I guess that sales will have gone down a lot in the last three months as the R2H package is quite compelling. In Europre, i’m expecting the Q1b to be introduced (complete with 3G data capability) and the Q1 price to drop in the next few weeks.
