It’s Sankt Nikolaus Day here in Germany and across many countries in Europe (See wikipedia. He’s the original Santa Klaus and he had a mate that used to eat naughty children.) so all the children have woken up to either presents or a piece of coal in their boots. I’ll be off later to the Christmas Market to drink Gluhwein. Don’t expect too much from me today.
If you missed it yesterday, Engadget reported that the OQO Model 02 is going through the FCC process. Nothing much to report apart from a depressing lack of cellular radio information. That’s the one thing that was rumored. Its 4 weeks to CES so sit tight.
Ctitanic has some Mugen Power batteries for testing. The 3 and 9 cells for the Q1 and the 9-Cell battery for the e0 v7110/Paceblade Easybook P7/Ago7. The 9-cell Q1 battery on the Q1b is going to give you around 12 hours of life. Woosh!
There’s some very nice mobile device news from LG (Infoworld via jkOnTheRun) They will introduce a WiMax version of the Xnote C1 (aka C1 Express) which is a wonderful looking 10.6″ convertible tablet PC with some fantastic specifications. There’s even a mention that they are looking at introducing an Ultra Mobile PC in 2008.
I also wanted to mention the P1610 port replicator that James Kendrick is using. I’m a big fan of docking stations. They should be part of every ultra mobile PC design which is why I’m really interested to hear more about the Arima UV650. One of the pictures shows it with a docking station.
Finally, I hope to be getting hold of a Kohjinsha (i hate typing that name) SA1 ultra mobile for testing in the next week. Its right at the top of my list as the best Moblogging PC to use on the solar-powered bike-and-blog tour I’m planning next year. More about that in due course.
Steve.
Oh my gosh 12hours?! Steve, could I ask if CTitanic really has tried 9-cell on the Q1b for 12 hours?
Really amazing!
Unfortunately Ctitanic has the normal Q1 so we can’t test it but there should be no problem reaching 12 hours on the Q1b.
