It never hurts to ask, and thats what a potential Gigabyte U60 ultra mobile PC customer did this week on a Gigabyte website. What he got back wasn’t really the answer he was looking but for but it did reveal something interesting. A new UMPC. We’ve got copy of the roadmap this user was sent and if you look along the bottom right hand side, it shows a new U62 Intel-based UMPC.
There’s no image and no information. Only a weight, which is the same as the U60. Could Arima be modifying the ULV650 to include an Intel CPU? Could it be based on the McCaslin CPU?
Info on the U60 can be found on the Medion RIM 1000 datasheet as its effectively the same device.
