File under: Not sure if its a PMP, Navi, ultra mobile PC or MID!
My apologies everyone. I’ve had this info for weeks and it slipped off the bottom of the list. Thanks to everyone who pinged me after HPCFactor brought it to the fore.
This 600Mhz Alchemy-based device seems much like the Cowon Q5 but with the addition of a few interesting productivity apps. Npop EMail, CalliGrapher Handriting Recognition and the Softmaker Office 2008 Suite with read and write capability. Its also got Windows Internet Explorer installed but I’m not sure if it’s IE5 or IE6, the two options available for WinCE 5.
But there’s a catch. Actually two. Remember the Raon Vega’s problem of dongle-enabled WIfi and BT? Well it seems the Infinity has the same issue. I think I remember why it fell of the bottom of the list now! [Checking on the product website doesn’t show any indication of dongles though. I wonder if they have changed the design. Double-check before you order!] The second issue is the low screen resolution of 480×272 which is not really good enough for any sort of un-optimised Internet browsing.
It does have a GPS/cradle and navigation (US/Canada) though which, considering that it’s pretty difficult to get any sort of Internet at over 50kmh, might make it perfect for keeping in the car. I guess it depends on price – something that Clearview Technology seem to be making a point of in their website.

Expect an announcement at CES where it will be launched.
