There’s another PC World snippet coming through today which reveals that Acer will launch their netbook at Computex in June. That makes total sense seeing as that’s the last major trade-fair before the netbook launch itself. Computex is guaranteed to be awash with mini notebooks and we should expect to see the Atom-based Asus Eee PC along with many of the other 20-or-so netbooks that are under development.
I won’t be going myself but UMPCPortal will have a rep or two out there so expect some juicy coverage.
Just out of curiosity… how would someone work with you guys?? ;)
Personally I’m expecting quite much from acer netbook. They have been lately focused quite much on “style” or “appeal” of the notebooks as well as the technical specs. See for example 8902G or 6920G. If they would continue with something similar than the gem-line with the netbook and also boast the same kind of specs as for example the awaited ECS G10IL they would have a sure winner in their hands. And when the manufacturer has the capacity like acer has they can really compete with the pricing.
A punch below the belt would be if acer would adopt the much anticipated Via Isaiah CPU rather than Intel Atom. I think that would make a pretty good wakening for many other manufacturer and also give Via a good strong customer and propably give them confidence to develop and release the next-gen-Isaiah with 45nm a bit faster too.
…well I think i’m getting ahead myself… let’s just see some “leaked” pre-release pics/vids/info before expecting anything sceptacular.
Awww… another Diamondville based system. Screw that and get Silverthorne on it at 1.86GHz and I might snap up one.
Acer Ultra e is cool to students
