I was invited to do a presentation video with Jeff Moriarty of Intel yesterday. Here’s the result. I don’t expect to be getting any daily TV show offers as a result but it was a lot of fun.
The MID ‘tornado’ video

nice video :-)
thx!
I don´t know who Mr. Moriarty is, but I like his “I’m a cool kid” approach. I have to say, though, that these interviewers who use a “gonnahityouwith-mybigmic-ontheface-yo” always crack me up. :D
Good vid, looking a real pro Chippy. ;-)
Cool stuff. What’s funny is that the Intel guy is calling devices with Vista on it MID. Once again pointing to no clear definition of the term.
I second what Andario said. :)
Thanks for the video feedback! Dunno about being a “cool kid” but I had to use the only mic available, that giant stick.
I also don’t really think of anything with Vista on it as a MID personally, but a lot of people do. Netbook seems to be settling out a little as a term, but MID is still a real stew of ideas.
When will the BenQ be avaible ?
heh, chippy looked nervous at first. but ones the mid/umpc starts showing up, its all biz ;)
What is the name of that 600 gm Fujitsu? Has it been released?
quick guess, its the U2010 or U820 as it will be known in usa.

Loved the video and whirlwind tour (um.. sorry, tornado tour), and the D4 is still the snazziest design, but I gotta tell you one thing… we’re all gonna have to chip in and buy you guys some grown-up clothes!
Steve,
I love the fact that the tables were turned on you as the “interview-ee” instead of the “interview-er”! Good fun to watch, but it’s sad that you appeared far more knowledgeable on the products than the Intel rep.
@Dunstan – Haha! Thanks for the offer. I have some of those “grown-up” clothes, but when running around at these conferences all day I take comfortable as my priority. But maybe I’ll keep a tie on hand for future videos.
@citivolus – Why is it sad? I’m not an “Intel rep” – I am the fairly new manager of the dev community for Intel. That doesn’t mean I get to play with all the end devices (as much as I might like that). Steve definitely knows more about the end devices than I do, and it’s one reason I’m glad he’s here. I could have grabbed one of our actual “reps” but then you would have had more of a marketing pitch. We just wanted to show off the devices Steve found interesting with no other agenda.
Good Job Steve, even though i nearly peed my pants in the beginning. I am going to make a running gag out of the introduction, it will be a torture for you during our next live event! hahah
Anyways.. Jeff, you did a great job with getting Chippy on the video and let him grab his favs and i am glad that we got you on the mic instead of some marketing spin doctors!
Great job but i wanna see some netbooks now! Steve gimme some content, i am starving!
;)
Steve,
it was a pleasure working with you and Jeff on the video.
I actually thought this was a great whirlwind tour and was well managed between Steve and Jeff. Steve you should consider doing more video posts/reviews as you are actually quite TV friendly – presentable, articulate and knowledgeable. This would likely bolster viewership of UMPCPortal.com due to the uniqueness of the content.
Video posts are usually much more popular in blogging than walls of text and give more of a personal feel. You could also start a YouTube channel to promote the site.
Just a thought!
Great video Steve, they picked the right guy to demo show the units!
I don’t write many comments, but this time (at least) I agree completely.
i dont usually comment, but after reading through so much info i had to say thanks
