The Wind is arguably one of the best netbooks on the market today. MSI has just released the U90 8.9inch screen variant a while ago and its already thinking of future products. Andy Tung from MSI recently stated there will be a new “business-minded” U120 (Wind 2) model coming end of November/beginning of December. The new device is said to be a complete redesign, will have 3.5G (HSPDA), and options for an SSD or Harddrive. The price will be under $600 which sounds like a pretty good deal. Look out for numerous rebrands of these appearing over the next few months. Also if you are looking for the current U100 model, you will soon be able to head down to your local “major retailer” (Im guesing Best Buy) and buy the 3 cell/ Win Xp version for $399.

Can’t wait. Hopefully it will have a discreet graphics option as well like the Asus N10. The redesign should be interesting – lets hope for something akin to the black Asus Eee PC S101 which I think is the best looking and most professional looking netbook to date.
Why do these maufactures keep on releasing UMPC’s with rubbish batteries I mean how long is a 3 cell gonna last 2 hours? Why arnt they following Asus lead with the 901 and fitting batteries that actually last.
personally i dont really see the need for a Gen 2 device yet until the new Atom arrives. as of right now it will probably just be a samce-spec’d prettier version of whats already available.
besides i am VERY cautious of MSI now. after what they did with the cheap touchpad replacement along with several things imagine what they did inside the unit that we dont know about). who knows how well this new unit will be built.
Could it be that the U120 will be with a DC Atom processor?
If so probably they’ll need larger batteries.
Does anyone know a place where to buy MSI Wind batteries?
just make the 6 cell battery the default option, and ensure that it is flush with the chassis.
