Right then, that’s the end of my first day on my Mid Moves tour. Who’d like to see what I got up to?
Mid Moves (Ewan) – Day 1… Fire from Ewan Spence on Vimeo.
In the video, I talk about my choices of today’s element (fire) and my transport of the day (the bicycle), and take you on a little tour of Edinburgh.
The Compal was used for three main areas today wiring up blog posts, doing the route planning (courtesy of Google Maps, which takes me on a weird route I wouldn’t have considered), and pointing out the extra information about the monuments on Calton Hill available by browsing the internet when you’re standing next to them.
A fun video, thanks. I’ve thought about getting the Compal MID (Aigo P8895, Gigabyte M528) due to its rather nice form factor but is the battery life good enough?
It’s actually not as good as I first hoped. I’m getting just under two hours out of it with the 3G connectivity. What’s strange is that after the first hour it reports 80% power left, and then rapidly drops away before it runs out. That could be that the indicators aren’t calibrated on our software, but the time is still relativly short.
Im getting about 2-2.5 on 3G. I agree with the battery indicator issue. 3g can kill battery life quite rapidly. I would estimate 2.5hrs an wifi and ive tested it at up to 3.5hrs with wifi on but backlight off.
