What MIDs are we using on the MIDMoves tour?

We’ve just finalized the list of Mobile Internet Devices with Intel and we’re looking at a really great line-up of kit. There are 8 devices coming from Intel and we will have a number of devices that either we own ourselves or that are coming from other sources. Here’s the list of devices you can look forward to…

OQO Model 2+. Yes, we’re getting two of the handhelds that have just launched at CES. We’re not sure if they are the 1.8Ghz or 1.3Ghz models yet but either way, i’m very excited about testing these out as in their previous incarnation they proved to be very well designed devices.

Benq S6. The Benq is currently on sale in Italy for just $299 and offers a slate-style touchscreen, 3G-enabled web experience. This is going to be great for times of consumption rather than creation.

Clarion MiND. The MiND is on sale in the U.S. and is focused on in-car operations with 3G, GPS and turn-by-turn navigations.

Compal MIDs. Compal are the OED for MIDs you see from SFR (France), TIM (Italy), Gigabyte and Aigo. I’ve tested this a number of times before and it’s great.

In addition we’ll have a couple of Kohjinsha SC3’s, a Sharp Willcom D4 and a Wibrain i1 that Mobilx have sent to me for testing.

Its a superb line-up of some of the best mobile computing gear available today with different form factors and features. Slider, tablet and clamshell designs and all with different operating systems. Leading edge technology that will be fun and productive to work with. Stay tuned as devices arrive next week.
