We get a lot of emails highlighting ‘new’ products that turn out to be re-badged versions of devices we already have in the database so when I saw a recent email highlighting the Wibrain and Aigo models from HightonUMPC I politely responded with a ‘thank-you. We’ve covered these already’ and thought nothing of it. They wrote back fairly swiftly to highlight that 4 products in their range are actually from their own designs. Sure enough it looks like Highton ultra mobile PC do actually make their own UMPCs!
Details of the four ‘home made’ UMPCs are below. Despite the reasonable pricing, I don’t see anything too thrilling here though. The 800×480 resolution on the VIA models is not optimal and the 2.5hrs battery life on the Intel models also raises flags. The designs are somewhat industrial too but that’s probably where Hightonultra mobile PC are aiming with these.
