Over at Meet:Mobility, Sascha, JKK and I have just posted podcast 34. A half-hour of netbook, MID, smartphone and ultra mobile PC discussion with a focus on IDF, the N900 and the rush of tablet-style devices hitting the market at the moment. We hope you enjoy it.
One point I wanted to highlight from the podcast is where Sascha reminds us that although there’s a tablet buzz going on right now, not many of the devices have hit the market yet and there’s no proof that any of them are or will be successful. Worth thinking about.
Note that Sascha will be moderating the Netbook World Expo in Paris on December 8th. I’ll be at the Mobile Dev Camp in Munich on October 31st.
Finally, we’re still looking for a sponsor for the Meet:Mobility podcasts so that we can make it a regular bi-weekly event. If you’re interested, contact us for details.
I am interested to see how would Maemo Mer perform on a 9″ ARM powered tablet or smartbook convertible counting that you can have a full blown linux applicationsa like OpenOffice.
example on n810:

now imagine a 7″ or 9″ unit with cortex-a9 and >256MB RAM. There are a lot of new options open now that ARM hardware had matured enough to be used in PC-like environment.
