There are many new MID devices being released these days, and it seems that the 7-inch screen size is gaining popularity among the fans of reading on mobile devices. Users looking to read books, comics or work documents have shown great interest in SmartDevices (SmartQ7, SmartV7), WitsTech (A81/W1060), and other 7-inch multi-function MIDs. Operating systems available on these devices vary, from Linux to WinCE, with Android being the most sought after. Its a safe bet that the first manufacturer that can release a dependable MID running Android with full Market functionality and a decent […]

I will be analyzing this a bit more over the next few days because it’s an interesting product that runs along the lines of the Open Pandora project we showed you yesterday. The gaming device is built around a Samsung ARM platform with a Cortex A8 core running at over 800Mhz so it’s going to be a very fast device. There’s also a huge 512MB RAM to play with. If you haven’t heard about the Novatel Mifi then let me quickly explain what it is. Its a palm-sized gadget that you put a 3G-capable SIM card in. You press a button; wait a short while and voila! An instant Wifi hotspot for up to 5 devices at broadband speeds. It really is as simple as that. Use it in hotels, cars, the park and the coffee shop to give yourself instant, mobile internet access. It’s so good, it’s been voted top mobile accessory.
For more detailed information, a review and a video, check out the round-up we published earlier this year.
If this sounds like something that you’re interested in, we’ve got an easy competition for you. You can win a Mifi 2352 (that’s the European-focused 3G version) that has been donated by our good friends at Mobilx.

Thanks to Intel’s ‘Insider’ program I’ve been invited to attend CES 2010 which is a dream come true. Although I won’t be able to track and report the important news as I usually do from my office, I’ll be getting the huge honor of getting first-looks at some amazing devices. I’ve had a few tips and hints coming my way from various people and I can assure you that it’s going to be a great week of news, information, videos and images.
