Or perhaps we should say base? Anyway, a Greek site has turned up the first look at the Dell Mini 5’s dock. The dock has HDMI out as well as USB port (likely to power the unit and transfer files from a computer) The Mini 5 [Product page] will be able to do 720p video as stated and demonstrated at MWC earlier in the week and the HDMI will help you get that to an HDTV. Up at the 10†netbook segment there’s a well-established market for low-cost, portable, low-end laptops. 40 million or more sales to-date and many tens of millions more sales predicted in 2010 and 2011. Prices are low, battery life high, performance acceptable and even style is playing a role now. Netbooks are just cool and very easy to justify. This is where ARM partners have a superb opportunity in…the Social Netbook.

Before you watch the video below, take a look at the video I shot of the Entourage Edge at CES. It shows a dual-screen reader with E-ink/E-paper and traditional LCD technology. It’s huge, heavy and will be expensive to produce. There’s no reason to have two screens apart from a comfort factor (it looks like a book) and to get round the limitations of LCD and e-ink displays.
