Boy it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a decent looking slider. Just to remind you, this sliding Android device is a phone in addition to a potentially awesome MID. We caught a quick look at the Inbrics M1 at CES 2010. At the time, Inbrics was unsure if they’d be bringing it to the market, but it seems like after some good feedback at CES, they’re hoping to get it into consumers’ hands. At CES Inbrics was saying that they may be able to sell the device for […]

In my previous post I pondered over the idea that the Satio might be my next mobile phone. Don’t worry; I’m over it now! It turns out that the Satio doesn’t run OVI maps (out of the box,) isn’t as fast as the Cortex A8 CPU might have you believe and with a waiting line of Sony Ericsson phones expected, I really don’t see it getting the long term attention it needs from it’s creators. All that remains now is to wait for Mobile World Congress and if I don’t […]

Thanks to the great crowd at DevMob2010 in London last week, I’ve had some good feedback to my scenarios and segmentation diagram which was originally created in 2006 and is now updated and re-published under CC license. It should help as a stimulus for software developers thinking about the possibilities in the space between smartphones and netbooks and can help device designers to think about usage scenarios. Customers will also find it useful to pick out their own usage scenarios and to see what type of device fits with their requirements.

Netbook Navigator have re-positioned their Nav 9 product with a much lower entry point. You still get the multi-touch (resistive) screen, Windows Home Premium and 16GB SSD but the entry level pricing is now much more interesting…

Welcome back Hugo! We look forward to your special ‘down under’ insight into the world of tablet PCs. UberTablet blog

Back in November of last year, Emblaze introduced what is presumably going to be its first product — a mobile phone called the First Else which hopes to revolutionize the phone experience by delivering a unique interface. Emblaze launched an official site for the First Else which is a clunky flash based page that attempts to show you the “revolutionary” interface that the First Else hopes to offer its users. One issue with that – The First Else is using the TI OMAP 3430, the same one found on the […]

Pocketnow.com has gotten its hands on some images and a video of the HTC Incredible, and upcoming phone which looks quite a bit like the HTC HD2 and appears to be on its way to Verizon (the boot sequence shows a Verizon animation in the video.) Despite aesthetic similarities between the HD2, the Incredible comes with Android 2.1, which I’ve been wishing was available on the HD2 the HD2 (it uses Windows Mobile instead). The phone is equipped with HTC’s ‘sense’ UI which is a custom interface on top of […]
