CeBIT is where many many Asian device designers will be looking for European customers and it’s totally expected that these unknown devices keep cropping up but I can’t help thinking that by the time these devices are put through final customer modifications, approved for all the local regultions and then put on the production line and distributed that ARM11 based devices are going to look very out of date. Personally i’m of the opinion that ARM11 is already out of date for a good quality web browsing experience.
We’ll try and get a round-up of all these new tablets together for you over the coming weeks but it looks like we’ll have to let CeBIT play fully out before we can start that job.
I can’t keep up with all the frikkin numbering. Is Arm11 more or less powerful than the Arm8 in the new Archos 7 Home Tablet?
arm 8 is better than arm 11 .
i’m still waiting to replace my psion 5mx. all these android tablets are great but there is no keyboard. i dont really understand why no keyboards are included, surely people will be using these more than just to surf the web.
i would buy the netwalker by sharp but its way too expensive. can somebody not just port epoc to an old chip, arm 2 (if it exists ) would be fine. just keep the monochrome screen , with a decent battery , and instead of epoc word files use text.
cheap chip , 3 month battery life and great keyboard / software. thankyou.
ARM11 is more powerful than the ARM9 in the Archos 7 Home Tablet.
Cortex A8 is faster still (found in Archos 5 Android Tablet)
Your post is smashing. There are some issues here but don’t have the time right now. I’m bookmarking this and leave this comment to check again later and update my first comment (this one). By the way i found your blog post as i was quering for similar subjects in Google
These are really sleek and look great but I have to have buttons. I’m fed up with all this touch-screenness we have going on right now. Some people prefer to have buttons to make life a little bit easier for themselves.
