Posted on 07 March 2010

Memory, screen and CPU utilization are serious considerations for the UMPC and Netbook user. I’ve been looking at Twitter clients to try and work out what the best solutions are. I’ve found a few that you need to avoid too!

G-link 7006 7″ Android Tablet

BYD T10BPT 10” Capacitive Tablet on PineTrail

Posted on 04 March 2010

A lot of the 10 inch PC-based tablets we’ve seen recently have been built around the ‘old’ Diamondville CPU and 2-piece chipset which, although good, it’s as good as the Pinetrail platform that is now rolled out for new netbooks. Smaller mainboards, lower power and a light boost in performance is exactly what’s needed to improve the Windows 7 experience in a tablet form factor and that’s exactly what BYD have in their T10BPT. The tablet is a an OED device looking for someone to pick it up and run […]

BYD Alice / Viewsonic VTablet At CeBIT

Posted on 04 March 2010

BYD is a Chinese company that makes cars and IT products. You might have seen a few of their designs popping up branded as Viewsonic and in this video JKK gets some hands-on time with the ‘Alice’ that is also known as the Viewsonic Vtablet. Interestingly the OED version here is shown as running Tegra 1 but the Viewsonic version has been talked about as having Tegra 2. We still don’t have any information on pricing or availability and once again, this is a raw, open-source build of Android with […]
