So many tablets… I understand everyone is making these things because it is a new emerging market and they have seen how well the ipad has sold and want a piece of the pie. However having used an ipad and the tablet form factor, I can’t help but feel I have no real use for one. I guess since the tablet form factor has come along, mids have been put on the back burner.

@Minions i think thats because iPad is targetted as more of a toy-like device. i love my iPad to bits dont get me wrong but something with much more features such as MeeGo (ie i think you are able to install ubuntu programs, correct me if i’m wrong) will be able to offer more

  13. turn_self_off says:

    heh, the umpc is back?

now then, when can one lay hands on a eeepc with meego?!

  14. ProDigit says:

I just wished Microsoft would jump in the bandwagon, and created a Windows XP alike OS, for the Atom powered Netbook, that if possible also could run on an ARM based processor.
An OS that will do what Linux can’t, and that is run 3D games with excellency in DX10, and have compatibility for programs running under previous windows versions like XP, 9x, 2000, Me etc…

  15. turn_self_off says:

there is a windows embedded standard 7 that can run on both i belive. jkk found a device that used it during the first day of computex, iirc.

  16. turn_self_off says:

or maybe i have it confused with windows embedded CE, thats also supposed to get a 7 release soon.
