The last time we saw Viliv’s P3 DAP was at CES 2010, now it seems they are calling it the P3 Prime and they have recently unleashed a bunch of promotional graphics for the P3 Prime on their Korean site. Now we’ve got an official specs list for the device (which again asserts that it will handle 720p playback): 3.7” AMOLED display @ 800×480 8/16/32GB storage options with Micro SD slot for expansion WiFi b/g, FM radio and DMB receivers TV-out and mini-USB ports (specs sheet says mini, but that […]

I was really surprised that Apple didn’t do anything “magical” or “revolutionary” with the iPad’s [Portal page] on-screen-keyboard. The iPhone’s was definitely revolutionary because it was probably the first truly viable OSK – thanks to some intelligent software design and a capacitive screen instead of a resistive one. The iPad’s keyboard has that same inteiilgent software design, and a nice big capacitive screen. The problem is the big part. The iPad’s keyboard works well, but it really only works well if you can set it down on a desk in […]

Last Wednesday and Thursday I spent quite a few hours (clearly now wasted!) to analyze the Intel position relating to tablets buy taking that ‘tablet silicon’ rumor ‘Moorestown-W’ tips and previous rumors about an ‘Oak Trail’ platform. It turns out that it was on the money because Intel have just announced Oak Trail, the next generation ultra-mobile platform. Oak Trail = Moorestown-W = Tablet Silicon optimized for Windows 7. In the information I’ve been given so far, there isn’t much more detail but tomorrow I’m doing a Live Blog […]
