The pace of progress in the Smartphone world is stunning. Only last week we were excited to see the Droid 2 (Our unboxing video here) with its improved slider keyboard but this week, Samsung take it up a notch with the Epic 4G which has seen a raft of reviews in the last few days. It’s a 4 inch slider Android 2.1 device running on a 1Ghz Samsung Hummingbird CPU. The Epic isn’t quite available yet (31st August is planned) and even then it’s only available to Sprint subscribers in […]

It’s time to break our silence on the Galaxy Tab. We’ve been watching carefully but just haven’t had enough information to bring you anything solid until now. We’ve used the latest Galaxy Tab news as our cue to round-up the information and drop it into the database. Of course, nothing is confirmed yet but many of the rumors tie together well and point to an IFA launch next month. We’ve gathered all the specs we can, linked to the main stories and added this information to our product database which […]

Are we reaching the end of the line for productive handheld PC’s?
What OS will fill the gap and provide the applications and full internet experience?
Have we exhausted all design possibilities?

We’ve got our hands on a hot little piece of hardware today and the coverage is coming straight to you, my dear readers. Check out Verizon’s latest Droid phone, the Motorola Droid 2. See our Droid 2 tracking page for full specs and details. The phone feels very solid despite being a slider and therefore consisting of two big moving parts. It’s also thin enough that I’m certain many people won’t realize that it’s a slider the first time they get it in their hands. I’m already somewhat impressed with […]

Although the WeTab (formerly WePad) has been available for pre-order on Amazon for some time, there’s been some doubt about whether it really is going to launch but with the recent discovery of an advert on one of the biggest German electronic stores website, it looks like the WeTab really is on track. MediaMarkt website. Via Netbooknews.de The WeTab is built on an Intel platform with a standard Linux core and a self-built user interface. I’m interested to see if WeTab have used any MeeGo components. I’m also interested to […]

I have to preface this review with an apology. It’s taken me a long time to get this review up on the site and I’m sorry for that. You knew not to expect a day-one review from us because that’s just not how we roll; we like to get a serious feel for the items we’re testing before passing judgment. I was waiting for apps to be updated with iOS 4 features, and for Apple to tell their side of the antenna story before writing the review (not to mention […]

Long-gone are the days where netbooks were available at the 1KG mark. The Asus 901, Acer A150. Classic 1KG, 8.9 inch netbooks that worked well as mobile-focused PCs for getting things done almost anywhere. The EeePC 901GO was arguably one of the best mobile bargains around at the time, at least in Europe. No hard drive, sub 1KG, 3G and a great price. Oh how things have changed. All we seem to see now are 10-12 inch devices at 1.2KG or more with moving hard drives. The 800gm-1KG mark is […]
