Carrypad started in 2006 with the idea that there should be a mobile device that is “the parent of the smartphone… It is the offspring and partner of the PC. inch [Ref] In the last 4 years we’ve seen a range of good devices from mini tablets to mini PC’s. Nokia nearly hit the mark a couple of times with their Linux tablet devices and Archos have been very close in this area too but no-one has really got it together to make a device that converges all the functions […]

Yes, we were unlucky and got a faulty Tega V2 so Tegatech kindly shipped over a new one for us to play with. Work starts on that soon but in the meantime, what should we do with the faulty one? It was a good evening and great to get hands on time with Microsoft’s latest foray into the ever changing mobile landscape. This month has to be one of my favorite since I started blogging about mobile computing but the icing on the cake has to be the return of the 1KG netbook. I’ve had hands-on and I really like this Samsung N350. So much so that if it turns up in a 3G version, it will probably replace my ‘old’ Gigabyte Touchnote 3G. That extra core will smooth out the transition from XP to Vista and maybe, just maybe, allow me to switch to 720p video editing a badly need upgrade […]

We’ve seen that the consumer-focused Viewpad 7 is now available for pre-order well those of you with a productivity slant might be more interested in the Viewpad 10 which is now available for pre order at Amazon in the UK. At 429 pounds from Amazon UK it looks like a good price but WATCH OUT, that N550 and 2GB specification is WRONG as far as I know. (Perhaps you should try ordering and demand the free upgrade we suspect even the price is wrong) Look at the Maplin page for […]
