There’s very little need for a WYSIWYG HTML editor on Android. Who in their right mind would want to do that on a smartphone? The requirement pops up though when you use Android on a large screen device like this AC100 smartbook i’m using right now. I’m testing a few right editors right now and although there’s nothing that hits me as being 100% perfect, I think there are enough solutions and workarounds out there. What would be perfect is to be able to work through the browser in AJAX […]

It’s rare that a new father gets 3 days alone but next week I’m in that position and I want to make the most of it which means I’m going on tour to test some 1KG mobile computing solutions the cost under 1000 Euro. I’ll write 1000 words on each and do my best to travel 1000km. It will be fun and productive at the same time and that’s what I really really love about mobile computing. I’ve got a device shortlist but it’s not finalized and as yet, the […]

How easy is it to work for a day on a PC. Easy! How about writing 1,000 words and carrying less than 1KG of equipment that costs under €1000? How about doing it while traveling and not carrying any mains adapters? Next week I have three days on my own and I plan to get away from the home office. I’m not sure where I’m going but I do know that I will be setting myself a challenge to finish my e-book which is now nearly a year past my […]

Exactly one-year ago today I was in Amsterdam for the Maemo Summit. There was excitement all round as hundreds of developers talked about the future. The N900 was handed out and one of the biggest group unboxings ever took place. This year it’s different, and yet the same. Maemo is now MeeGo and not only are Nokia driving it but Intel and the Linux Foundation are also part of the push. On November 14th I’ll be traveling to the MeeGo Conference in Dublin where I expect even more of a […]

Dear Sony, You’ve made some of the coolest handheld devices that I’ve ever owned. From your Clie PDA line, I owned the Clie NR70 and the Clie UX50. From your VAIO UX line, I’ve owned the incredible UX180. I’ve owned a PSP which was stolen years ago and I recently purchased another one because I regard it as the best mobile gaming device on the market. All four of these devices (and certainly many others in your handheld lines) emitted a blinding light of quality, reeked of design excellence, and […]

Ah… it’s been a while since the good guys at Woot put a good deal up that would interest our readers. The last one we saw was the Fujitsu U810 [product page] way back in October of last year. Almost a year later, they strike again with a pretty sweet deal for anyone interested in UMPCs. You can pick up a brand new Asus Eee T91MT convertible netbook for a cool $279. On our Eee T91MT tracking page, you’ll find the full specs and links to reviews, videos, and more. […]

Mi700 on the left. Haiku Concept by Microsoft’s Origami Team (2005/2006) You love full PC’s in the hand I know, but I just wanted to highlight the Mi700 7 inch tablet that is being reviewed over at Carrypad. It’s running Android 2.2 and it’s fully stocked with all the hardware features you’ll find in a phone, including the phone. It’s arguable that there are things you can do with the Mi700 that you just can’t do easily with a ultra mobile PC or Windows-based tablet. Location services, social networking, 3.2MP […]

Foreword. Many, many thanks to Er Lern out in Malaysia for sending us this review of the CSL Mi700 tablet before posting it on his own blog. Er will be bringing part 2 of the review soon.
