I have a meeting with ECS tomorrow and will get some videos made of these Oaktrail-based 7 inch and 10 inch tablets but in the meantime I’ve uploaded a bunch of images. Both designs looks good. The 7 inch design is non working and the version I have in my hand is not the current industrial design as seem in the display cabinet images. The ASUS Eeepc 1215B might be outside the 10 inch and 1KG limit we generally apply on UMPCPortal but there’s a few things to note. 1 This could be one of the lightest, and cheapest devices you could use for mobile 720p video editing and 2 The technology could filter into high-end, if quite large, UMPCs. I didn’t get a chance to do a Crystalmark test for a quick overview of the system performance but I did check out the Windows performance score. The CPU is the lowest of the […]

The ASUS 1015pn was already one of the most powerful 10″ Netbooks but here at CEBIT we’ve found it running the dual-core Atom CPU at 1.68Ghz. The Crystalmark test shows better CPU performance than the 1015b (AMD C-50) but worse 2d and 3d rendering performance. Here’s the full result with optimus enabled and then with the 1015pn locked into Nvidia mode and externally powered. See our previous post for 1015b results. Wondering how the 1015b does on a Crystalmark score? Its only a synthetic indication of performance but here you go. . . This is the C-50 cpu at 1.0Ghz Posted from WordPress for Android with the Galaxy Tab

Available with the C-30 or C-50 AMD Fusion platform this is the Eee PC 1015B. Max 2GB RAM breaks the mould a bit and we suspect this could come with Windows 7 OS options unlike many 10″ Netbooks Posted from WordPress for Android with the Galaxy Tab

Targeted for end of May with a €499 entry price, this is the Asus Eee Pad Memo running dual-core, 1.2Ghz Snapdragon and showing the Bluetooth handset. Voice apps also feature on this device. Posted from WordPress for Android with the Galaxy Tab

I’m here at the Asus booth standing over (as I type) the Eee Pad Memo. Asus also have the specs which show a 1.2 Ghz dual-core Snapdragon, a 380gm weight, array mics and voice capability. The voice capability has been extended out to a mini handset via Bluetooth some proprietary protocols. It’s a great idea! Planned launch is planned for the run-up to Computex at the end of May. Pricing for the base version is €499 but the full-fat version with handset comes in at €699 Posted from WordPress for […]

ECS, an ODM who designs products for others to brand and market have interesting 10″ and 7″ Oaktrail products here among the dust on day 0 at CEBIT. 800gm for the 10 Tablet feels quite nice. Availability (for ECS customers) is planned for April. Here are some pics and specs. We’re back for some video-time tomorrow. Posted from WordPress for Android with the Galaxy Tab
