Ultrabook prices are falling fast. The Novatech nFinity 2367 Ultrabook is on offer in the UK for £358 before tax, with SSD storage.
18mm thin with SSD – You’ve got two of the most important Ultrabook specifications covered. There’s a 14” screen too. The price is a UK pre-tax offer equating to around £430 after sales tax which smacks of great mainstream value. Where’s the catch?
Novatech are offering the nFinity 2367 in 4 different models. The entry level product comes with 64GB SSD but there’s a very decent 58Wh battery inside. If you can handle the storage limitations this might be something to consider…if you’re happy with a 1.4Ghz Core i3, a 1366×768 screen and 1.65KG in weight. We hate to take the wind out of the sails but yes, there’s a limit to this Ultrabook offer. Still, we’re talking great value here. (The video below speaks of ‘just over 1000 gramms’ so the weight is debatable right now.)
Update: Spotted in the light of day – The base price is without an operating system. £433 is what you’ll pay, before tax, for the base model with Windows 7 ‘Home.’ It makes the offer a little less interesting although those looking to do a bit of Linux/Ultrabook work, it’s the only option out there that’s available OS-free right now.
Moving up to a 128GB SSD and a Core i5 CPU brings you to £483 (pre-VAT tax.) which also isn’t bad [See update above.] With that 58Wh battery there’s potential there for some good runtime.
The Novatech nFinity Ultrabook™ takes the concept of portability and performance to a new level. Slim and stylish in design the Ultrabook™ can be powered by your choice of 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i3, i5 or i7 Processors, and is equipped with a either a 64GB or 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD). The combination of a lightning fast boot time (15 seconds from off) and a 7 hour battery life gives you a full working day, where ever you want, on one charge.
15 seconds boot and 7hrs is a step above what the other Ultrabook devices offer in their marketing material.

I’m sure Joanna will review it & find plenty of phantom issues, then just tell you to spend 2x as much & buy a MBA :-)
looks interesting, possibly user upgradable ? no images of the underside as yet.
does look cheap, but i guess it is!
No O/S option is quite a good idea actually, Windows 8 Beta is perfectly usable and doesn’t expire until next January (eg. 2013) and available for free!
