The X1 is probably the most referenced laptop by commenters on Ultrabook News so I’m sure many of you will be excited to know that it’s being updated and will be offered, alongside the original X1, as the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. The Dell XPS 13, Toshiba Z830, Lenovo U300s and Samsung Series 5 were with me towards the end of week so in addition to the live webcast, I took the opportunity to try and do a round-up video.

HP was relatively coy when it came to showing off photos of the enterprise-focused Folio 9470m that it announced just the other day. However, here at Ultrabooks, we dig deep through the news to bring you the best. In addition to tracking down the full specs we’ve now got a gallery full of high-res photos of the Folio 9470m for you — the photos have revealed an additional port not mentioned in the official spec sheet.

Acer just ‘launched’ (how many launches does it take to get a device to market these days!) the Acer S5 Ultrabook in the UAE.  The 15mm thick Ultrabook with the cool Magic Flip motorized port panel is said to be the thinnest yet. The 1.3KG (under 3lb) Ultrabook will cost, at launch in Dubai, Dh4,999.  We assume that’s a zero sales-tax price which equates to $1361 at todays rates. Acer S5 Product page.

HP is refreshing it’s first entry into the Ultrabook space, the Folio 13, with the business oriented EliteBook Folio 9470m. This is a business focused machine which HP has brought up to speed with a  third-generation Ivy Bridge processor a larger screen, a removable battery, docking connector, secondary-battery port, and more.
