Unconfirmed but appearing in the flesh on photos in China is the Lenovo Thinkpad Helix, an 11.6” Core-based Tablet with keyboard docking station in much the same style as the Lenovo Ideapad Lynx, a more consumer-focused dockable tablet built around the Intel Atom Clover Trail platform. Details are think on the ground but we’ve pulled together as much as we can for you. There’s some confusion about the mechanism here but after looking and reading through a number of reports, we’re going to say it has a single-sided screen that […]

Asus U500 details thus far revealed have been added to our database. There seems to be some confusion about whether or not the U500 is an Ultrabook. If the specs we’re seeing are accurate — a quad-core i7 ‘QM’ processor — it is definitely not an Ultrabook. However there seems to be quite a bit of confusion regarding that fact.

Asus has prepared a full device assault to coincide with the launch of Windows 8. Tomorrow at 2PM EST the company will be unveiling their Windows 8 lineup at their Windows 8 touch teaser site. LG have teased a new slider Windows 8 touchscreen convertible, the H160, that comes in at 1.06KG, a weight where an 11.6 inch multitouch slider could start to be useful. LG haven’t given specifications but given the weight and the claimed 10hrs of battery life, we’re confident that this will be Clover-Trail based. Update: Confirmed Clover Trail

We’ve got six Clover-Trail tablets/dockables on the product database right now and we’re expecting more to pop up soon. Windows 8 provides a nice boost for this category but one of the barriers could be price. [See “Unlikely Smartbook inch] European retail prices for two of these Clover-Trail tablets have already shown up and sure enough, we’re not exactly talking netbook-level pricing. Specs are interesting though. The Samsung ATIV Smart PC (XE500T) is showing up, without docking keyboard, for just under 700 Euros. The Vivo Tab (FT810C) for 800 Euros. […]
