Since introducing the Vaio T11 and T13 Ultrabooks last year, Sony has added the T14 to the lineup and also begun offering a touchscreen version of the T13 since the launch of Windows 8. Now at CES, Sony is announcing that it is bringing touch to the T14 and adding and even larger unit, the T15 (also available with touch), to the T-series lineup.

There’s been a rush of news on the ASUS Vivo Tab Smart this week. It’s the 10 inch low-cost Windows 8 tablet on Intel Clovertrail. It might be new to the tech-journalists at CES but it’s been out for a while already so I’m going to point you to a couple of videos from Mobilegeeks who have already unboxed it… It’s on pre-order in the USA for $499 and it’s available in Europe for 499 Euros. Vizio’s Ultrabook range is being updated this year with touch and AMD CPUs. The Thin + Light Touch laptops come in 14 and 15” sizes, both have Windows 8 and touchscreens and improved keyboard and mousepads – something that was a criticism with the 2012 models.

LG are teasing us with their Ultrabooks. We have four Xnotes in the database, a couple of extra Xnotes that we’re tracking and we don’t think any of them have easy availability in Europe or North America. Should we really be concerned with the Z160?

I’m a little bit behind the curve on reviewing the Lenovo Yoga 13 but given the amount of interest that we’ve had on the Yoga 13 over the last year (yes it was a year ago I had my first hands-on) it’s worth spending some time on a detailed review. Before that though, here’s my first impressions after 4-5 days usage.

At CES Intel is showing off their latest reference design for next-generation Ultrabooks with their next-gen CPU, Haswell. If you’ve been following Intel for any amount of time, you’ll know that they love reference designs. Reference designs package the company’s latest tech into a concept machine that won’t ever make it to market, but serves to show what is possible with their latest platform. Their latest Ultrabook reference design has a detachable screen which can be used as a tablet.

This video comes from GadjetJM and it’s a good overview of the new Samsung Series 7 Ultra that got launched a few days ago. This Series 7 is looking like a real powerhouse of an Ultrabook with touch and discreet graphics. Backlit keyboard, SSD and a Full HD screen of 1920×1080.
