Lower prices, improved CPU’s for Apple’s MacBook Pro w Retina and MacBook Air

Apple has announced new lower pricing and improved Intel CPU’s across its 13 & 15″ MacBook Pro with Retina display range and also lowered the price for its 13″ MacBook Air.

Available immediately at the new price the 13″ MacBook Pro with Retina will now starts at $1,499 for 128GB of storage and the standard 2.5GHz Core i5 dual-core CPU while $1,699 gets you the 256GB version with a slightly faster, updated 2.6GHz DC Core i5 processor. Both versions come with 8GB RAM as standard and remember that the 13″ MacBook Pro has one of the biggest battery capacities in its class.

Moving to the bigger version the 15″ MacBook Pro will come with a new 2.4GHz quad-core Core i7 processor, 256GB storage and 8GB RAM for $2,199 while the top of the line version will sport a 2.7GHz quad-core Core i7 processor, 512GB of storage and 16GB RAM for $2,799. Again, the 90Wh battery capacity is impressive.

The 13″ MacBook Air with 1440×900 display and 256GB of storage also receives a price cut down to $1,399 but no other changes to its specs.
