Dell XPS 13 with 1080p Reviewed

Posted on 24 March 2013

Good design, good keyboard, Displayport, Windows 8, Ivy Bridge and a 1080p IPS display. What more could you want? The original Dell XPS 13 has been upgraded with Ivy Bridge and that 1080p display but there’s no touchscreen and still no SD card. The battery capacity is still a rather weak 45Wh too. Anandtech have just reviewed the upgraded Dell XPS 12 with full HD display.

Posted on 18 March 2013

ChipChat is an Intel podcast about all things technology and I was fortunate enough to be invited in for a session at MWC a few weeks ago. We talk about Ultrabooks, sensors, screens, MWC, about my history and how I ended up as a tech reporter. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks to host Allyson Klein (@TechAllyson) for the opportunity.

Sony Vaio Duo 11 First Impressions

Posted on 17 March 2013

I’ve just sent back the Fujtsu Q702 hybrid. It was a great, productive all-rounder (Review here) and is also available with Core i3 and without VPro for much the same price as the Ultrabook I’ve just started testing. The Sony Vaio Duo 11 also fits many of the same user profiles as the Q702. It’s fitted with a digitizer, converts to a tablet and has a great set of ports. My first impressions are generally positive.

Fujitsu Q702 Review Video

Posted on 16 March 2013

It was a big and detailed review I admit but the Fujitsu Q702 is a complex bit of kit and even in 3000 words I missed out some detail about VPro and the security features. However, I know some of you want a quick way to asses the Fujitsu Stylistic Q702, either for work or your personal use so I’ve put together a video for you. The Fujitsu Q702 review video.

Fujitsu Stylistic Q702 Review. Core-Based VPro Hybrid

Posted on 14 March 2013

This isn’t going to be a standard review of the Fujitsu Q702. This review include 2-weeks of mobile working experience over two trade-shows which included many thousands of words or text, hundreds of images and around 30 YouTube video productions while away from mains power. We’ve found some issues. We’ve spoken to Fujitsu. We’ve done a lot of analysis on the bigger picture with Hybrids too. The Fujitsu Q702 is the most complex and multi-faceted PC we’ve ever tested so grab a coffee and enjoy the review.
