Posted on 30 April 2013

Despite the name, iRacing is not for iOS devices. Actually it’s quite the opposite — iRacing is a realistic racing simulator on PC for hardcore fans of the racing genre. The game, which has typically relied on wheel or joystick input, has been updated for tilt and touch control by Ultrabooks with built-in sensors. iRacing developer David Tucker walks us through the dev process.

Posted on 28 April 2013

I’ve had the Asus Fonepad for just over 2 days and in that time I’ve been through the OS, the built-in ASUS applications, downloaded my usual suite of Android apps, I’ve run a few performance reports and even written a blog post with it. I’ve tested video playback and found limitations and issues. It’s clear that the Fonepad isn’t a top performer but it returns a very smooth and enjoyable experience for nearly all operations. Posted on 26 April 2013

The Asus Fonepad arrived this morning and the unboxing video is already up. Apart from a casing that wasn’t properly seated, everything seems to be working well and it confirms that the Asus Fonepad is excellent value. I’ll be doing comparisons with my 2+ year old Galaxy Tab to see how far the tablet space has come in that time. The Fonepad is running on an Intel Atom x86 CPU for a start! Prices have come down dramatically , the software has improved and screens are much better.

We watched with amazement at how much the teams learnt, wrote, developed and optimised their apps. We found hardware limitations, software limitations and problems with gestures themselves but that’s exactly what we needed. The judges, teams and Intel have put hundreds of hours effort into finding out what […]
