Back in June of 2012, Apple revealed their MacBook Pro with ‘retina’ display — a super high resolution panel. Since then we haven’t an answer in the Ultrabook or Ultrabook-alternative world by anything higher than 1920×1080 (likely due to Windows’ poor scaling support). It looks like Asus will be the first to make a comparable offering. A new variant of the UX51 popped up quietly on Amazon.de sporting a 15.6 inch 2880 x 1620 panel.

The wait for the Asus Transformer Book in America looks to be coming to an end soon with the 13.3″ version slated to be available within a week on May 21st, Liliputing reports via the official Asus North America Facebook page.

Transformer Book competition? HP has just outed the Split X2, a Core powered 13.3″ touchscreen Windows 8 hybrid with WiDi, HDMI, and a keyboard dock with an extra battery and a 500GB HDD. Is this a viable alternative to the Transformer Book?

Here’s a way to check for battery capacity on a Windows 10 laptop, and to view historical battery life reports. without installing any 3rd party apps. It’s built right into Windows 10 and it takes just a minute to get the battery information. If you’re thinking about buying a second-hand laptop, this is one of the commands you need to use before you buy!

Some Ultrabooks focus on getting things done and although the end result is often a little on the dull side you can sense that you’re moving faster than with some other laptops and Ultrabooks. The Dell Latitude 6430U is one of those Ultrabooks and we’ve just had the pleasure of a few weeks testing it. Full review below.; Overview review video at the bottom of this post.

This post is both a keyboard test and a power test for the AMD A6-1450 Temash-based Acer V5 122P. I’m currently typing on the Acer Aspire V5 in Windows Live Writer and will be writing for about 10 minutes with the system in a low-power state. The energy saving power profile is keeping the CPU clock down to 1Ghz max and with a 50% screen brightness, WiFi off, keyboard backlight off and Perfmon running in the background I should be able to see just how long a typist could get […]

I’ve been testing the Acer Aspire V5 122P, a subnotebook based on the new AMD Temash platform. As part of my testing I’ve been doing some CPU and GPU-specific tests that will give people and idea of the processing power and efficiency of the A6-1450 platform. Update: The Live Testing session is over. Some notes below. I’ve just started a live stream while I test the Acer Aspire V5 122P, the AMD Temash-based laptop.
