The locals out in Taipei got early hands-on with the Acer Iconia W3 and the video is available below. You’ll see the Bluetooth keyboard and tablet ‘dock’ demonstrated along with Windows desktop and a look around the ports. Pricing in Europe is said to be €329 for the 32GB version and €379 for a 64GB version. We assume the keyboard is not included but can’t imagine it will cost too much extra as it’s only a Bluetooth accessory. Update: The keyboard costs 69 Euro.

Ultrabooks. Copies of the MacBook Air. Expensive laptops. Bringing nothing new to the table. I’ve read it all and discussed it all but knew from day 1 that there would be something special coming. Having followed Atom from day 1 to the point where Moorestown finally got the architecture right I knew what Intel could achieve. Haswell was built with the next generation laptop in mind. It’s HDR-Computing with Connected Standby, some of the best integrated graphics on the market, video engines that can process end-to-end 4K and TDP’s that […]

The Intel 4th Generation Core has launched and although the U-Series CPU’s are interesting, it’s the Y-Series Core processors that will be interesting for ultra mobiles in 2013 and 2014. Full details and part numbers, availability and pricing may not be available for some time although Intel have said that some products will be available this month. We hope the Y-Series Haswell processors will be inside some of them. 6W SDP (scenario design power it’s a lower number than TDP) is what Intel is highlighting but don’t expect devices based […]
