Lenovo is preparing to release 2 new models in its Ideapad Ultrabook line with the U430 and U330 being introduced with Intel’s 4th generation Haswell chip on board and touchscreens.

As MSI isn’t one of the largest computer makers out there, it’s understandable that their new product launches happen over a period of time, and across a number of regions, rather than all at once. A reasonable excuse, we’d say, for the MSI S20 Slider Ultrabook convertible that popped up on our radar many months ago. The unit, which has been slowly made available in the EU region, is finally on sale in the U.S.

The Lenovo Yoga 11S Ultrabook convertible is an 11.6-inch version of the Yoga 13, with one important difference — it’s running an Ivy Bridge ‘1.5’ processor, the Intel Core i7-3689Y. This new processor was created by Intel to meet the demand for small Windows tablets ahead of the Haswell launch. We’ve got the Yoga 11S on hand and will be putting it through the paces over the next few weeks. For now we’ve got our initial impressions and photos for your perusal.

Windows 8.1 Preview was announced and released at Microsoft’s BUILD event this week and I’ve been testing it on an Acer Iconia W5 Clovertrail based tablet similar to the W3, 8-inch devices that were given out to around 3000 people at the event. I’ve also upgraded an Ivy Bridge Ultrabook and an AMD Temash subnotebook, all with touch but it’s the tablets that get the most out of the changes in the upgrade.
