Information coming in from IFA… Toshiba just announced what could be the first Bay Trail tablet. ‘Latest’ Atom technology wasn’t detailed because it’s ‘so new’ so we can assume Bay Trail I think. 299 Euro start price. Full Office included ‘Newest’ Atom with LP DDR3 (Bay Trail?) 2GB RM Array mic 2 cameras (8MP) 1280×800 screen Micro HDMI Micro USB 2.0 Stay tuned while we find out more and get some hands-on.

Asus has (re)introduced the Transformer Book Trio, an 11.6″ tablet/laptop hybrid that can also be used as a PC when connected to a monitor and comes with extra versatility as it runs two operating systems, Windows 8 and Android.

Following on from our previous story about the official video for the Asus Zenbook UX301, Engadget has posted a hands on video with the Ultrabook while Asus has also posted the official press release for both the UX301 and its sibling the UX302 detailing the specs.

Sony has announced an 11-inch, 0.39-inch thick tablet with keyboard cover. Does the design sound familiar? The Acer P3 ‘Ultrabook’ uses a similar design running the Core Y-series CPUs. The ASUS Vivobook Smart does a similar trick with the Clovertrail CPUs but the one most people will be thinking about is the MS Surface Pro which runs U-series Core CPUs. In many respects, the Tap 11 trumps them all by offering Haswell, the next generation Intel processor, in a very thin design. The question is, what’s the battery life like?

The ASUS T300 with Haswell was kind of a known factor back in June but today ASUS made that official with the Transformer Book T300 announcement. This 13.3” 2-in-1 will benefit greatly from Haswell but it looks like ASUS haven’t done any re-design around it. It still weighs 1.9KG

It’s been a long time since I wrote about an Ultra Mobile Reporting Kit. V11 was back at CES 2012 and since then I’ve attended a number of important trade shows where the kit hasn’t changed much at all. Bridge Camera, Nokia Cameraphone, Tablet, Ultrabook. For IFA and IDF, two back-to-back events that start on Wednesday this week I’ve put together something new.
