I’ve tested a number of Baytrail devices and, as always with a new platform, there’s potentially a difference between the over-excited experience at the launch event and real-life usage; Sometimes it’s disappointing. We’ve just reviewed the Lenovo Yoga 11S and found it to be an exciting and yet productive sub-notebook with usage modes that go way beyond what a standard clamshell can achieve. The Haswell update is shipping too so you can now expect longer battery life but what’s really needed is a re-design around that platform in order to shave some weight off and make it more usable as a tablet. There are hints that it’s already happened.

Its been a long wait but finally Fujitsu has posted the Q584 Windows 8.1 tablet on their US site for ordering with lots of configuration options to help you get the tablet just the way you want it.

What a great way to get people into the Microsoft Store, what a great way to get journalists writing about the small-screen Windows tablets and, for some, a great way to pick up a Dell Venue 8 Pro for $99 All 78 of the Microsoft Stores will have 20 Dell Venue 8 Pro Windows 8.1 tablets available at $99 followed by a minimum of 10 more at $199. 100 will be available online starting from 7am PT.
