In a few hours, I’ll be down in the studio playing around with the Archos 9 that is on it’s way from the DHL depot. I won’t be too interactive as I want to record an unboxing video

Somehow i´m already turned off by this device. 609 € for a 1,1 Ghz slate is a hefty price. But of course i will tune in to the live session :-)

If 609€ is too much for you: Check out Amazon.de :) 499€
Or play.com 399£
As a T91MT user…these specs make me really concerned. 1.3ghz is already getting borderline too slow to handle W7. It’s a beautiful looking piece of kit, but I wish it was more inline with the Archos 5 with android. I wonder if they plan to release a 7″ version with the ARM processor?
It’s a nice device but underpowered. When Win7 does an update/download in the background the CPU goes to 100% and the device comes unusable for 5-10 minutes depending on the amount/size of the updates. Same goes for the virus scanner. Some more RAM and a dual core cpu would be a nice update.
For some bizarre reason I had it in my head that this thing was going to run android. Seems way more useful as a windows 7 platform. Of course I’d have to get a normal version of 7 installed on it. Starter is ew.
I wonder if you can hack XP on this thing. I like the design and agree with Steve, this could be great for viewing pictures for photographers. Battery life a hardware issue concern me.
Don't forget the live session tonight. Archos 9. Archos 5. Milestone. EkingS515 and of course, some beer! http://bit.ly/5auv1R

It looks (unexpectedly) very nice. Strong competition for the Viliv X70. Optical mouse pushes this to the top of the list.
I am concerned about battery life; that battery looks tiny.
You have all seen the mod that someone did on a Dell mini 9 netbook to turn it into a tablet? I wish Dell make something like that. It seems that it would be cheaper then the netbook. They could easily push it out the door for $300, and completely change the world as far as tablets are concerned. Of course, shaving that extra 0.5″ of the thickness is what probably adds the big $$$ to the price.
