The Sky Cabin at Knott’s Berry Farm isn’t on par with the extreme rush associated with rollercoasters, but it was a nice ride up to 180 feet above the park with the BenQ S6 MID a few hours ago. Though I’m only getting an EDGE connection from my AT&T SIM card, which I put into the S6 before I left the hotel this morning, the connection was strong up there and the speed was sufficient for a quick tweet and a visit to the MID Moves site to see what my fellow tour members were up to.
In its current state, the S6 supports only the 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA frequency band, which explains why I’m on EDGE here (AT&T uses the 850 and 1900 bands for 3G). I don’t know if there are plans for a wider launch of the S6 (it’s only available in Italy so far, I believe), but it’s performing well enough today that I would probably consider buying one as a casual internet device if it were released in the US.

And your black-tie, oops I mean “black dress” edition would be? :)
