Both Bigbeaks and Ctitanic have received their extended battery solutions for the Tablet Kiosk v7110.
As expected, 6-cells instead of three is doubling the battery life up to over 3 hours minumum. Thats about 4 hours under normal conditions and up to 5 hours in low-use scenarios.
Guys. How’s the extra weight (around 250gms was my guess) and extra bulk. Is it still hand-holdable?
This model battery should fit the Paceblade Easybook P7, Ago7, It’s and all other re-badged Amtek T700s.

It’s noticeable heavier up to the point that I think that a 9 cell battery won’t be comfortable at all to hold it and will be a big marketing failure.
The problem is with the location of the battery in the top. The either weight and the battery shape unbalance the gravity center of the device up to a point where it’s not longer comfortable to hold of for long period of times.
replace either weight by extra weight
I agree with Frank’s take on the extra weight/bulk. The positioning is such that the battery makes the unit much more top-heavy, thus it just isn’t as comfortable for handheld operation.
I think the extended battery is a must-have for occasions away from the charger for longer periods of time, but I still expect to use the standard battery for a lot of my day-to-day use. It simply is more comfortable to use.
My instinct is that the 9-cell battery may be pretty close to unusable hand-held. It could be a worthwhile purchase for those that need very extended, uninterupted battery life, but I would expect that battery would mainly be for table-top use.
Interesting.
Thanks for the feedback. I wouldn’t have expected it to have so much impact on the hand-held experience.
Would you say that maybe an external battery pack that plugs into the DC port (Frank you have one right?) is better?

Steve.
