I don’t expect any major announcements or product launches at WofM in Koeln tomorrow but there will be chances to make contact with the marketing teams from some of the big companies.
Samsung will be there and one of the outstanding questions I have at the moment relates to the Q1b. It was announced at the IFA and the only advertising I’ve seen until now has been in German. It launched in the U.S. but without the HSDPA modem. So what’s the latest? Is it coming to Europe?
ASUS will be there too so there’s a chance to find out how well the R2H is selling and weather there are more UMPC’s in development.
I will ask LG if that tasty mini tablet – the C1 – is planned for Europe.
Sony need to give me an update on the status of the UX in Europe. Is it coming to Europe or not?
I’ll be dropping in on The Tablet Store in the hope that they will have the Fujitsu p1610 available for a short hands-on. Hopefully they’ll have some inside news about other devices too.
Lennovo, Siemens and Toshiba are also there. Lets see if I can tease some UMPC-related info from them.
Tomorrow will also be a good test for the Eleksen fabric keyboard. I’m writing this entry in Maccy D’s on the Eleksen right now but lets see how it copes with an all day blog-fest!
If you have any questions for the European teams from any of the above companies, let me know below and I’ll see if I can put the questions forward on your behalf.
Regards.
Steve
