O2 Xda Flame: VGA Pocket PC Phone with GoForce

Oh so almost-UMPC!

Asia-Pac gets an O2 Xda Flame next year. It doesn’t look like anything special from the image but its got a VGA screen, an NVIDIA GoForce 5500 GPU, an Intel XScale PXA270 520MHz CPU, 2GB ROM, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, USB On-The-Go, a 2.0-megapixel camera, SRS Mobile HD surround sound support, and TV-out support.

According to PocketPC Thoughts forums its a 3G phone with Wifi. No Bluetooth has been confirmed yet and there are still sketchy details about the 3G support. One of the forum members is planning to get new information tomorrow though so stay tuned.

640×480 is really borderline on browsing so it’s not really going to challenge the likes of the Nokia 770 on that side of things but I have a feeling the videos are going to run extremely well on this. Is that another one of the UMPCs selling-points snatched away? Not really if you ask me. The sweet spot is still 5″ and 800×480 for the Uber-PMPs and low-end UMPCs.

Steve.
