Twice.com have published information on the S-XGen. Its not clear if its new info or if they’re republishing existing info.
A price, some more specs and another battery life figure have been given though so lets go through the details.
Slightly changed from the first specifications I saw are the 256MB memory and the OS which is now Windows CE as opposed to the WM5 that was reported earlier. Battery life is reported to be about 10 hours which is very good. Cellular capability is included but there’s no word of what types it will support.
The weight is around 14 ounces (400 grams) and the MRP is $1400. That’s the first time we’ve seen a price.
Unfortunately the screen specs haven’t changed. Although it might be 4 inches, touch sensitive and transflective there’s only 470 x 270 to play with. For $1400 I’d expect 640×480 at least because 470×270 isn’t going to be good enough for web browsing.
Over at the Seamless website there’s an image of the packaging which mentions ‘GPS system.’ for the model ED-3-6. Interesting marketing becuase i’m not aware that it have a GPS receiver on board. I could be wrong though.
The S-XGen is due to be formally launched at CES next month and the Seamless Internet spec page is here. I’ve decided not put put it into the ultra mobile PC database due to the low screen resolution.
