Akihabara have just posted info on the new 300GB 2.5″ drive from Fujitsu.
Just imagine dropping that in a UMPC. You could turn it into a low-power network storage device with battery backup. Its got a 1.6W max power requirement.
Unfortunately I’m not aware of any UMPC’s that are using 2.5″ drives with a S-ATA connector. The one’s I’ve seen so far have been low-profile ZIF devices. Anyone got any tips on this?
The press release here states that they are aiming to sell 1.5 million units in 2007.

before i put all my chips in on this, so to speak, I’d like to know a bit about pricing.
However that much space would be amazing on a UMPC.
