A good day for Mobile Internet in Europe.

In about 7 hours, the iPhone goes on sale in Germany. Its going to bring an improved mobile Internet experience to many many thousands of people. The same will happen in the UK tomorrow.

The iPhone is being sold by T-Mobile in Germany but Vodafone have countered with a rather nice offer which has piqued my interest a little more than the iPhone. From tomorrow, they’re offering the Vodafone Qbowl with an unlimited Internet access and flat rate calling package for 35 Euro per month. The Qbowl is actually the Samsung SGH-F700.

Its a HSDPA-capable phone with touchscreen and keyboard, it has a 3mp camera and it looks stunning. Its even got a form of haptic feedback. Touch a virtual key and the phone vibrates. Unfortunately it doesn’t have WiFi but with 3.2mbps HSDPA, there are other ways to get your data!

It will be delivered with Opera Mini browser which I assume will be the latest version released yesterday. We already know that its a pretty good browser!

The price is unknown but for 399 you can buy it outright. I guess its only going to cost 100 Euro with the contract.

I’m due for a phone renewal in about 3 months with Vodafone and this one has just gone to the top of my list.

A video demo is available here.
