OK, they didn’t actually mention Origami once but as they talk around the target usage scenarios for the iPad, all I hear is praise for the market that, just a few months ago was a non-starter and is exactly what Origami was aiming for. The true personal computer is here, the sofa tablet is here, the comfortable web experience is here, the consumer-centric OS is here and it’s everything that Microsoft was aiming for with Origami but couldn’t deliver because they were 4 years to early. Technology and operating systems couldn’t turn their dream into reality and it died in a concept called Haiku.
Of course, now that the space between 4 and 10 inch is news, everyone is happy to praise it’s potential. Oh brother!
Despite my moaning (really, I should have shouted louder three years ago!,) the round table that was recorded on the Charlie Rose show (U.S. public broadcast) is a good one.
Charlie Rose had The Wall Street Journal/All Things D’s Walt Mossberg, The New York Times’ David Carr and our own Michael Arrington on his show Thursday night to talk about the Apple iPad

There’s lots of things I don’t like about Apple, and much to dislike about the iPad, but I will, absolutley being owning one these devices. I’ve been using mobile computers for years, hell, I bought most them after reading reviews from your site, but all them have failed to deliver the true mobile computing experience that suits me. That’s not to say that I don’t love some of them rather too much, and that I’ll keep buying other devices that take my fancy.
The iPad is and will be a game changer for this market, even if it doesn’t succeed commercially for Apple it will have raised the bar for all the other manufactures to beat, And I believe that can only be good for tech addicts like me.
This is an exciting time for the mobile space, the only thing I’m not sure about is how to convince my wife that I need another device in the house. Maybe I’ll buy it for her, because I’m betting she love it.
they should have invited Steve Jobs himself so he could lay down on the table & each 1 of them could take turns sucking him off..
each time mossberg shows up in relation to apple, i wonder how much jobs is paying him under the table to be the nr 1 stealth marketing man for apple.
Thats sweet! Cheers for the share!
