Update: Looks like someone up the grapevine missed a translation; Kjeld points out in the comments that on T-Online’s site (one of the retailers showing the Aspire One) it says ‘versandfertig in 2 Wochen’, which apparently means ‘ships in 2 weeks’. So it is not available just yet, but will be soon.
Engadget is reporting that the Acer Aspire One is already available in Europe (see above). Apparently there will be three models released. All will use the N270 Atom CPU and Intel 945GSE chipset, different regional configurations will come with a 3-cell or 4-cell battery, and 512MB or 1GB of RAM. Each will use the Linpus Lite OS except one model which will be available with XP (more on that in a moment). The low end model (A110L) runs Linpus Lite with 8G of flash storage. The other two models (A150L and A150X) will have a 120GB HDD in place of the A110L’s 8GB of flash; the A150X will be running Windows XP. From what is showing up online, it looks like the A110L will cost you €329 (about $518 USD), a bit of a stretch from the $379 estimated price but not too expensive. All models will be available in either blue and black or white and black, and probably more colors in the future.
Well, not quite :-(
Engadget got their info from Fudzilla, who links to T-Online, who says “versandfertig in 2 Wochen”, which as far as my german goes means “ready for shipment in 2 weeks” :-(
And further more – all the HD versions (80 or 120 GB) says “versandfertig in 7 Wochen” – so, 7 weeks to go :-(
A local Danish reseller indicated that it would be available here in September :-(
And I really NEED it now!!!
The 8GB SSD-devices really are available. I just called cyberport.de (who also list them as in stock) 2h ago and they really have them in stock.
So it`s definitely there.
the 80GB hdd Acer will only be available in August.

Check this site from Portugal. It has the Aspire One (AOA110 ) base model costing only 299 €. If you can’t see the link, go to http://www.fnac.pt and select “Hardwareâ€. There’s the white and the blue versions. Expected delivery on the 18th of July.

Strange!
Cyberport.de (big german online retailer) lists it as in stock. I called there yesterday to order one and they told me that it really is in stock.
Notebook.de lists it as available within two days.
But yesterday t-online-shop also listed it as avalable (if my memory does not decieve me).
So availability still is a mystery. I`ll know on monday…
