All 10-inch tablets and ultra mobile PCs we have in our database are listed below.
10-inch tablets can be good mobile productivity devices but we end towards 11.6-inches as being the start of the ‘productive’ category. Firstly, the keyboard size on a 10-inch device can be a little cramped. Only the best keyboard designs work well so pay attention to the keyboard when choosing a device for productivity. Secondly, the screen can be somewhat cramped. Younger eyes will have the advantage here!
There’s also an issue with battery life and heat. The smaller the device, the more difficult it is to create a balance between battery life and air-movement within the device. This problem is being solved with high-capacity batteries but again, you’ll only find these in the best designs.

Microsoft Surface Go, 522gm The Surface Go has a lot of fans, and a lot of haters! Reviews are generally good though and the price adds to the attraction. The base device, with slower 64GB flash storage might not be the best of the models as the 128GB version uses a much faster SSD. GPS-capability comes with the LTE version. You'll need to think about the extra cost of a keyboard too. This is a device focused on mobile users and if you're one of them, please consider the LTE version. 7 hours battery life is possible but mobile usage (high screen brightness, LTE connected) could bring that figure down a lot. |
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 LTE, 392gm The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 LTE has a fab super-AMOLED hi-res 2048x1536 pixel 9.7 inch display with a 4:3 ratio, essentially a larger version of the 8.0 inch Tab S2, it is still lightweight and has the same slight frame of 5.6mm. You get Samsung's multtasking split screen interface and a fingerprint scanner. The 8MP camera has a notable f1.9 aperture. |
Teclast X98 Pro, 510gm The Teclast X98 Pro is a 9.7 inch Windows 10 tablet with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and you can put in up to 64GB of SD card storage. |
HP Pavilion X2 10 2015, 590gm The HP Pavilion X2 10 2015 is adockable tablet and has 4 modes of use. It has a slightly upgraded quad core Intel Atom 3736F processor which can turbo boost to 2.16GHz and is expected to have a battery life of up to 12 hours. A nice weight of 590grams goes up to just 1.18Kg with the keyboard. There is also a port of the latest USB Type C standard. It is a versatile device but the display resolution is 1280x800 so those looking for a full HD experience, move-on [chippy] |
Apple iPad Air 2, 437gm As you may expect this iteration of the Air is thinner and lighter than it's forebear. The enhanced retina display has taken previous iPad displays of three layers and eliminated the gaps hopefully giving more vivid colours and less internal reflection. The performance of the 64 bit A8X cpu that comes with an M8 motion coprocessor provides up to 40% improvement according to Apple. Security is from the fingerprint identity sensor built into the Home button, Apple call this Touch ID. The front camera is 1.2MP and the rear iSight 8MP, the wifi is 802.11 ac which theoretically give up to 866 Mbps. The device comes in three colours and 16, 64 or 128GB storage and up to 10 hour battery life.

Onda V975W, 495gm The Onda V975W is a 9.7" tablet based on Intel's BayTrail Atom Z3735F processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage. The 9.7" multitouch IPS screen has a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi b/g/n are rather standard and we would have liked to see 5GHz WiFi band. The tablet has the same aspect ratio and screen resolution as the iPad air. |

HP SlateBook X2, 1247gm
Toshiba Encore 2 10, 555gm Low-cost, light and looking quite stylish. The Toshiba Encore 2 10 is the first 10-inch low-cost Windows tablet from Toshiba and it's based on a refresh of the Baytrail-T platform. Basic 2GB RAM and 32GB storage should be enough for casual use and with an included HDMI port and one year Office 365 the desktop could suit some as a short term desktop. |
HP Omni 10, 652gm The HP Omni 10 offers full-HD resolution on a 10-inch tablet in just 650 grams - a big step forward for Windows tablets. The entry price of 399 Euro is a step forward too. |
ASUS T100, 544gm One of the first 2-in-1's on Baytrail architecture. It's a lightweight product with a very usable tablet section. With the price at $345 (32GB at launch. $399 for 64GB storage) it could be a very attractive and highly dynamic tablet/PC combo. |

There is a Wifi version and a 4G/LTE Version like on previous generations with either 16, 32 or 64 GB of Memory. |
Skytex Skytab, 953gm
Sony Tablet S, 595gm The Tablet S features a screen technology that Sony calls "TruBlack" and they say it enhances colors and darkens the blacks. Chippy got his hands on the Tablet S at IDF and immediately noted that the screen looks very good. The Tablet S is quite light at 595 grams and the design should make it easier to hold in one hand than tablets of a similar weight. |

Acer Iconia M500
MSI WindPad Enjoy 10, 795gm
ASUS Eee PC X101, 920gm Highlighting perhaps where Meego might be fitting in, this is a no-frills netbook with small SSD storage, a super light weight and a very low price. |
ASUS Padfone, 129gm The ASUS PadFone got a refresh in terms of specs and OS. It does feature a Qualcomm S4 Dual Core processor at 1.5GHz, which based on the latest ARM Cortex A15 chip.

Acer Aspire One 522, 1300gm Great value for money! Sets a new standard for specifications on 300-euro netbooks. |
Apple iPad 2, 590gm
HP Touchpad, 700gm With a specification targeted at the iPad one wonders how it will look when the iPad2 is launched but WebOS has a lot of fans too! The Touchstone feature and good connectivity might not be enough to make huge sales numbers unless the price is very competitive. |
Pioneer Dreambook ePad F10, 700gm
Creative ZiiO 10, 649gm The ZiiO 10 is a large WiFi only tablet that is definitely targeted toward home use/sofa surfing. Creative claims that the tablet's 1GHz CPU and 1024MB of RAM will be enough to output 720p video through HDMI. |
Tegatech Tega V2, 800gm
Dell Inspiron Duo, 1530gm
Viewsonic Viewpad 10, 800gm
Toshiba Folio 100, 760gm
E-Noa Interpad The announced price for this is 399 Euro which will be competitive is Interpad can deliver a full Android experience. |
Toshiba AC100, 867gm As with the Compaw Airlife 100, the AC100 looks to come without Google Market and Google apps. Availability is confirmed for the UK at a reasonable 299 pounds. As Android market develops, sideloading of apps onto the AC100 could prove interesting. If a 3.0 upgrade is planned for 2011 then this becomes a very interesting lightweight, low-cost 3G netbook. |
Netbook Navigator Nav 9, 900gm With multitouch, a tablet-enable build of Windows 7 (premium,) 2GB RAM, a 900gm weight and good entry level price, the Nav 9 helps to bring true, productive tablet PCs to the masses. Our only concern is the very small battery which we estimate to be worth up to a maximum of only 2.5 hours. An extended battery (about 150% capacity) will bring the capacity up to around 4 hours and at %50, is recommended because it's a custom install. Included carrying case and car charger rounds off a nice package. Note: 3G retro-fit should be possible with a PCI-Express mini module. (Unconfirmed) Question remains about removable battery. (We suspect not.) Options exist for 32, 64 and 128GB SSD. |
Apple iPad, 680gm at 680gm (1.5lbs) the iPad comes in at a larger-than-expected weight which could limit its use as a mobile device but the entry-level, no-contract price of $499 is groundbreaking for Apple. Ebooks, Maps, Video, Music and a high-quality web experience through a fun and friendly user interface will qualify it for many. Limitations and 'showstoppers' exist (no SD slot, no Flash support, no multi-tasking.) One of the first 'good value' products from Apple. |
Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3T, 1300gm At $499 this is priced to compete with the T91, T1028, T101 and Viliv S10 but with only Windows 7 starter, users will have to upgrade to the high-end 1.8Ghz version with Windows Home Premium and 2GB RAM to get the best out of it. That's a $650 price-point. |
Asus Eee PC T91MT, 953gm With a weight of under 1kg and a very small size, it's going to be interesting for mobile users. |
Asus Eee PC 1008HA, 1089gm
EviGroup Pad, 990gm Based on the Intel netbook platform (2008) and with a 2.5" drive this should perform quite well for web and online Flash video playback. Would form a good basis for a modular mobile PC system although we don't see any dock option or, at this stage, information on battery life. |
Viliv S10, 1210gm The S10 takes the Intel Menlow platform to it's limits at 2.0Ghz. With a fast SSD and the multitouch convertible tablet screen, this is a very interesting multi-scenario productivity offering from Viliv. |
Nokia Booklet 3G, 1250gm We assume this is based on an Atom Silverthorne CPU based on the battery life claims, video performance and size of the device BUT this could be a PineTrail-based device. Pricing will be critical |
Archos 9, 800gm A 9" Tablet-style PC is a rare occurrence. This is a Windows 7-based device that focuses on media. The chipset included is capable of 1080p and Windows 7 can certainly drive H.264 up to extremely high bitrates but the 1.1Ghz CPU with the 4200RPM hard drive seems to slow this device down to 'boring' levels. |
Asus Eee PC 1004DN, 1446gm
MSI Wind U123, 992gm
Asus Eee PC 1002H, 1191gm
MSI Wind U110 ECO, 992gm
Asus Eee PC 1008HA, 1089gm
ASUS T101MT, 1300gm At 1.25KG with draft-n, a good keyboard, touchscreen, 3G, this could be the one to beat for flexible mobile productivity. Pricing unknown at this stage. |
MSI Wind U115, 1100gm
ASUS Eee PC T91, 980gm With a weight of under 1kg and a very small size, it's going to be interesting for mobile users. |
HP Mini 2140, 1200gm A lot of people called for Intel Atom in the original HP 2133 chassis. Now you have it! Atom should improve the battery live and reduce noise and heat which were problems on the original 2133. Nice keyboard. Hi-res screen options and Expresscard slot should satisfy prosumers. |
MSI Wind U120, 1021gm
Asus Eee PC 1000H, 1451gm
LG X110, 1191gm With 3G and GPS options, the X110 could offer more for the 'pro' user than other netbooks. |
CTL 2Go, 1360gm Not a consumer-focused design in our opinion. Much heavier than the Eee PC 900 and with 800x480 on the 9" screen, it will lack the productive screen space of the 900 too. |
MSI Wind, 1200gm Excelent keyboard, good quality build. Everything works! 3-cell Battery life gets a minus-point but apart from that - highly recommended. |
Sesol HiPAD ii, 1300gm
