Everun Note (Linux + SSD) Live Presentation later.

Posted on 27 October 2008, Last updated on 11 November 2019 by

everunnote4I have just received two new Raon Digital Everun Note UMPCs. The S16S, a lower-cost device running Linux on the Sempron 1Ghz processor and the D24S, a high-end device running XP on the Turion X2 (as per the standard D60H) with a 24GB SSD drive.

I’ll be live at about 2200 CET (GMT+1) on UMPCPortal.com/live and you’re welcome to come along and watch a short presentation and ask questions as I do an initial set of tests on the two devices. See you there!

Live session was recorded and is available now on the Ustream video page here.

    YES!!!!

Finally my dreams come true, Chippy testing the S16S… :-)

I’ll try to be there, definitely!

Hope heat and power usage improves while the MLC SSD isn’t too slow.

    Hi

I think is interesting to know if the optical mouse has improved compared to D60H

  5. Pipps says:

Excellent news – I have been looking forward to seeing more of the S16S.

Chippy – please tell us whether this is a demo model which you’ve received, or if it’s the first of the newly shipped unit!

  6. Dominik says:

Every retailer only has white Everuns.
We all know that black is faster and way more cool ;-)

  7. Pipps says:

    Hi Dominik

I received an email reply from Raon just today – explaining that they have no plans for a black version, despite the original demo model at Computex 2008 – but after I assured them that everyone in the West wants black more than white, they promised that they would keep this in mind for the future.

I sure wish the S16S was coming in black, though.

    This is the business.

I’d be first in line…except for one thing.

There’s no SIM card slot, so no HSDPA internet.

come on Everun, get it together and you will make a fortune!

  9. John in Norway says:

Did they give you proper charging instructions this time?

  10. someone says:

awww.. missed it :( will it be uploaded?

  11. Chippy says:

The video of the live session(nearly 2hrs!) is available here. Video quality is good so if you want to learn about the two models before a purchase, take a look.
