T101H

I’m sure we’ll see more pics of this over the next few days but this one (from a set at GottabeMobile) shows the slim casing, the low-profile keyboard and the hinge. The 9″ version of this is said to be under 1KG making it very interesting in my book. I guess it’s not carrying a 6-cell battery (It’s probably using flat Li-Poly batteries to help the design) but if it’s got a 30whr battery, it could be a 3-4hr device if it uses (as indicated by JKK) the Z520 CPU.

Update: Note that the 10″ version is shown as using the N270 (Diamondville) CPU.

Check out a few other pics at GottabeMobile.

All the specs we know along with news links will be placed in the T101H page in the database.

no one has made this clear…are these tablets multi-touch? or will they be standard touch screens like that of the M912?

cause if they are multi-touch…then forget every other netbook, im getting one of these!

  2. John says:

meh. I want finger friendly (more finger friendly than Ubuntu-UMPC even, which really only has 1 finger friendly app (MidBrowser), and even that’s not very finger friendly). I don’t care much (one way nor the other) about multi-touch.

  3. turn.self.off says:

if it got hildon support under the hood, maybe one could port over some stuff from nokia’s maemo? ;)

  4. John says:

I’m just hoping they have a linpus, eeebuntu netbook remix, and/or android port.

Any word on whether or not they’ll have PCI-Express-Mini card slots in them? (the video on jkkmobile says some of them will support wimax, so I sort of assume they’ll have SOME sort of expansion slot)

Black, 2GB RAM, and eeebuntu netboox remix … that would be awesome.

  5. John says:

Oh, did they give any indication of a release date?

  6. Chippy says:

Timescale for release is 3-6 months according to one report I saw.

As for multi-touch, yes, it’s been mentioned by ASUS. Not sure if it’s one or both models.

JKK and I will discuss this in a podcast today and bring all the latest info together on it.

    Steve.

    capacitive multi-touch using n-trig digitizer

  8. Ben says:

Thanks for clearing that up Rob. I don’t understand how they are making large multi-touch screens at a price level that allows them to keep these within netbook pricing range.

    Oh man!!!

i’m sooo preordering one as soon as i can :)

I sort of feel the same way, only about the Everun Digital Note’s linux version. I’m sure the windows version was hot, but the linux version doesn’t have built-in wifi (but it does come with a wifi dongle to put in the poorly placed USB slots) … and I haven’t gotten it to export its display via the VGA port … which makes it a bit of a pain in the butt to use as anything other than a novelty. Raon seems to have done a poor effort on linux support.

Upgrading to the 9″ version of this though… if they have a Linpus version … would be outstanding. Or if EeeBuntu Netbook Remix is able to fully support it (screen rotation, touch screen, wifi, etc.).

  11. David says:

Does anyone know whether they have a built in microphone?

  14. Acnegal says:

Asus Eee is perfect for ladies who does not want to carry a very heavy laptop. i like the Asus Eee because it is very compact and easy to carry anywhere.

  15. Yonica says:

I got an Asus Eee as a christmas gift. It is very compact but i wish that the LCD screen was larger.

  16. Chesny says:

Asus Eee is not only portable, it is also one of the most affordable netbooks you can buy. Asus is also a good brand which means quality and reliabilty.
