Updated on 05 September 2020

The Huawei Membership Centre, also known as the HMC, is Huawei’s innovative reward program for customers. It’s essentially an app that provides Huawei members with the opportunity to access value-added services and keeps you up to date with the latest trends and news. But here’s the twist; this app is much more evolved than a traditional reward
program and can give you access to features and benefits that are not available anywhere else.

This program has been successfully launched in multiple countries, and Huawei has recently announced its upcoming launch in UK as well. But how exactly do you benefit from being a part of the HMC and how does it work? Well, this guide will take you through everything you need to know about the Huawei Membership Centre.

Huawei Goes That Extra Mile

Reward or loyalty programs are becoming more and more common in but there are few that are as rewarding as Huawei’s. Not only is the app very well designed for usability, the rewards offered are very exciting as well. The following are just few of the many benefits and opportunities that HMC members have seen in China and in other parts of the world.

  • Opportunities to hang out with your favourite celebrities
  • Invites to exciting new product launches and other exclusive early-access rights
  • Big discounts on the latest Huawei products
  • Tickets to entertainment events
  • Discounts on other products and services such as hotel stays.
  • Access to ‘Discover Huawei’, which offers over 50 free interactive courses compiled by Huawei after collaborating with renowned artists, photographers, and other industry leaders

In addition to these, Huawei has even thrown in more functional rewards such as 50GB free cloud storage, free in app upgrades, and exclusive hotline access to name a few.

How HMC works

The way the Membership Centre works is rather interesting. The whole concept revolves around ‘experience’ points, with more experience leading to more benefits and rewards. But what’s so unique, and a welcome surprise too, is that, unlike other reward programs you don’t need to solely rely on buying Huawei products to obtain your points. Of course, purchasing does lead to a generous chunk of experience; however, you can also earn your ‘experience’ by becoming a member of HMC and collecting something known as ‘energy’ points.

Energy points act as the currency for the members of HMC and is given out as rewards for active behaviour on any of Huawei’s value-added apps such as Huawei Mobile Cloud, HUAWEI Video, Huawei Music, Huawei Themes, Huawei Pay and many more. Huawei has also made it possible for members to gain these points through participation in events such as product launches, member gatherings or any other Huawei organised event. All these events can be found easily on the HMC app.

The energy points are then used up to buy Huawei products and services which in turn leads to increasing your experience and getting access to some of the more exclusive benefits. The more energy points you spend, the more experience you get.

According to Huawei there are 3 membership levels which is based on how much experience points you have. The highest level, the Elite Member, offers some fantastic rewards that you definitely don’t want to be missing out on!

A Promising Future for Members

In China, the HMC members are spoilt with the variety of rewards and benefits on offer. With the program set to launch in the UK, we are yet to understand what type of benefits are on offer and how fast it can reach the popularity it has in other parts of the world. But the signs are promising – Huawei plans for the Huawei Member Centre to expand its partnerships, which means more discounts and more rewards for its members. So, the UK
customers could be in for a treat.
